V-Force series delivers more savings to users
3rd December 2008
Seventeam, the long established Taiwan based power supply manufacturer, have achieved 80-plus Bronze category status on all their V-Force series power supplies. With efficiencies higher than the majority of all other power supplies available, V-Force series saves the user money by wasting less electricity.
80-plus is an independently certified program aimed at promoting higher efficiency, any 80-plus certified power supply has an efficiency of greater than 80%. To achieve Bronze status means achieving an even higher nominal efficiency of more than 85%. The potential saving to users is high, for example, replacing the PSU in an older PC system that uses 300W of power with a V-Force series PSU can save you over 100W of power, that's the equivalent of changing at least 3x40W light bulbs to energy efficient ones. For high performance gaming PCs the saving can be potentially doubled to over 200W!
Andy Chien, Seventeam R&D Manager, said the 80-plus Bronze category certification was great news for users. 'We are very pleased with the result from the independent 80-plus testing,' he said 'not only is it great news in terms of power cost saving to users, but also means we can make our power supplies very quiet'. He went on further to comment 'High efficiency means less heat generated, less heat means less cooling is required, and so slower fan speeds can be used which gives the user much lower noise from PSU.'
