FAQ
Q. One of the SATA connectors only has 4 wires, will it still work with my HDD or DVDRW?
A. Yes although the wire it does not carry is the orange wire, 3.3V, no mainstream 2.5" or 3.5" HDD or 5.25" DVDRW's use the 3.3V for power only the red 5V and yellow 12V. Only a few uncommon 1.8" SSD drives use the 3.3V for power.
Q. The power supply is a different shape and a little shorter than the original one will it still fit?
A. Yes although the original is a non standard proprietary size our replacement does fit all be it tightly pulling securly into place with the rear screw holes.
Q. My power supply is only 160W, your replacemetn is 250W. Wont it give my system to much power?
A. No, the system only draws as much power as it needs. The power rating of the power supply is its 'capability' not what its delivers. What you should never do is replace it with a power supply that offers less available power ie one with less than 160W in your particular case as the system load may then be to great for the power supply causing system instability and many other possible issues.
